EventUAlly Privacy Policy

EventUAlly is an independently developed mobile application operated by Rajat Deep Singh. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, stored, disclosed, and deleted when you use EventUAlly, its website, and related services.

Depending on how you use EventUAlly, we may process:

• account and authentication information, including your email address and identity-provider account identifier;
• display name, username, and supported profile information;
• group names, descriptions, memberships, visibility settings, and invitations;
• event titles, descriptions, categories, dates, times, visibility, locations, notes, RSVPs, venue votes, and related administrative information;
• potluck items, quantities, notes, and claims;
• event-chat messages and message-reply relationships;
• reports, report reasons, descriptions, moderation status, and moderation evidence;
• push-notification tokens, mobile platform information, operating-system status, and app version;
• technical and network information used for security, abuse prevention, rate limiting, troubleshooting, and service operation.

EventUAlly does not provide open one-to-one direct messaging, a searchable global member directory, or general-purpose user media hosting.

EventUAlly supports third-party sign-in providers, which currently include Google, Apple, GitHub, and Reddit.

We do not receive or store your third-party provider password. Authentication and session information is handled through our authentication infrastructure.

When you use location-enabled features such as Around You or nearby venue discovery, EventUAlly may request your device's current latitude and longitude.

Device GPS coordinates are used temporarily to calculate distances or perform nearby searches. We do not maintain a persistent history of your device's movements and do not store your device GPS coordinates as a user location history.

Your Home City or discovery-city preference may be stored locally on your device. A manually selected discovery location is separate from your device GPS location.

Around You currently uses:

• Free: up to 10 km;
• Premium: up to 100 km.

Event meeting locations and venue information are different from personal device location. Meeting addresses, venue names, and event coordinates supplied or selected for an event may be stored so authorized participants can use the event.

We use information to:

• create and maintain accounts;
• authenticate users;
• manage groups, invitations, memberships, and permissions;
• create and coordinate events;
• manage RSVPs, venue voting, and potluck coordination;
• provide Around You and venue discovery;
• operate event-specific chat and replies;
• deliver transactional push notifications;
• investigate reports and enforce community rules;
• protect the service against abuse and unauthorized activity;
• enforce access restrictions, including blocking;
• maintain, secure, and improve the service.

We do not sell or rent personal information to data brokers or advertisers, and we do not use third-party behavioral advertising SDKs.

Event chat is scoped to a particular event and authorized participants. Users can edit or delete their own messages except where moderation controls temporarily prevent changes. Users can report messages and block other users.

Ordinary chat messages are automatically deleted from the primary database 7 days after the event is completed.

A reported message may be excluded from ordinary deletion while it is under review. An immutable snapshot of reported content may be retained for moderation, safety, dispute resolution, legal obligations, or legal claims.

EventUAlly provides blocking functionality. Blocking may restrict the blocked person's access to content created or controlled by the blocking user and may cause applicable group or event access to be removed.

Blocking is not a guarantee that all interactions between users will disappear from every third-party system, and removing a block does not automatically restore access.

If notifications are enabled, EventUAlly stores a push token so that it can deliver transactional alerts such as event updates, venue finalization, cancellations, new event-chat notifications, and moderation updates.

Chat push notifications use generic content and do not intentionally transmit the complete chat message through the notification payload.

Push tokens are deactivated when appropriate after logout and are deleted when an account is deleted.

EventUAlly uses third-party services necessary to operate the application, including:

• Supabase for authentication, PostgreSQL database infrastructure, and real-time messaging infrastructure;
• Railway for backend hosting and application infrastructure;
• Google Places for place and venue search, autocomplete, and place details;
• Google Geocoding for geocoding and reverse geocoding;
• Google Maps for map functionality;
• Expo Push Notification Service for push-notification delivery;
• Apple Push Notification service (APNs) for supported Apple devices;
• Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) for supported Android devices.

These providers may process information necessary to provide their services. EventUAlly does not authorize them to use EventUAlly information for independent behavioral advertising on our behalf.

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the service, including HTTPS/TLS, authorization checks, group-membership controls, role-based access controls, rate limiting, and secure device storage for authentication tokens where supported.

No Internet transmission or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

You can delete your account through Profile → Settings → Delete Account.

Deletion generally results in:

1. replacement of your retained display identity with Deleted User where shared content must remain;

2. release of your username;

3. removal or invalidation of authentication information;

4. removal of active group memberships;

5. deletion of push-notification tokens;

6. release of active potluck claims;

7. clearing of applicable locally stored account data.

Shared event information may remain when necessary for other participants. Ordinary event chat remains only until its applicable retention period expires, subject to moderation exceptions.

Reports may contain the reported message, a content snapshot, report details, moderation status, and administrative notes.

Moderation evidence may be retained longer than ordinary event chat when reasonably necessary for safety, investigation, dispute resolution, legal obligations, or legal claims.

EventUAlly is currently intended for users 18 years of age or older. Individuals under 18 should not create or use an EventUAlly account.

If we learn that a person under 18 has created an account, we may restrict or delete the account as appropriate.

EventUAlly uses cloud and infrastructure providers that may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Applicable privacy laws may provide different rights depending on your location.

Where required by applicable law, we will apply appropriate safeguards to international processing and transfers.

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights concerning your personal information, including rights to access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or withdrawal of consent.

We may need to verify your identity before responding to a request.

Where required by applicable law, we will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.

We may update this Privacy Policy when our service, data practices, or legal obligations change. The effective and last-updated dates will be changed when appropriate.
